SR&ED Tax Credit
The SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) tax credit program is a financial incentive endorsed by both Revenue Canada and Revenue Quebec to encourage innovation, invention creation, and the improvement and development of new know-how within your company.
If you have developed or improved a product, a device, an equipment, a process, a prototype or started a pilot project in the last 2 years and have encountered technical difficulties that led to an experimental development process, it is likely that your expenses are eligible for an SR&ED tax credit.
Through this program, you can obtain reimbursements of up to 74% of salaries, 40% of subcontracts and 35% of materials consumed.
This credit is claimed at the same time as the financial statements (limit 18 months).
